About Martlets Hospice

Since its establishment in 1997, Martlets has supported 34,000 local individuals. Located in Hove, Martlets is a charity that provides essential care for people affected by terminal illness in Brighton, Hove, and surrounding areas. Their expert teams offer the highest quality care and support, enabling patients and their loved ones to make the most of their time together.

Martlets’ services are offered free of charge, thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses, and trusts. While an NHS grant covers a portion of their costs, the majority of their vital services are funded by the community.

In January 2024, Martlets merged with St Barnabas Hospices to enhance patient care and ensure sustainable hospice services for the future. The merged entity is now a leading provider of hospice care in the Worthing and Brighton areas. Additionally, Chestnut Tree House, serving Sussex and Southeast Hampshire, is dedicated to delivering compassionate, specialized palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families.
