Lewes District Council, named after the town of Lewes, serves a district that includes the largest town, Seaford, as well as Newhaven, Peacehaven, Telscombe, and numerous villages and rural areas.
Eastbourne Borough Council, the governing body for the non-metropolitan district and borough of Eastbourne in East Sussex, holds its meetings at Eastbourne Town Hall. As part of their collaboration, the councils share a chief executive and various other staff members.
