With this scheme Wave Community Bank prioritise the financial wellness of Maidstone Borough Council’s staff, empowering them to achieve their financial goals and navigate their financial journey with confidence.

About Maidstone Borough Council

The Borough of Maidstone, situated in Kent, England, holds the distinction of being a local government district granted borough status. Its geographical expanse predominantly extends to the east and south of the town of Maidstone, encompassing territories extending northward to the M2 motorway, eastward along the M20 to Lenham, southward to include areas such as Staplehurst and Headcorn, and westward toward Tonbridge.

Comprising a total of 55 councillors, the Borough Council serves as the governing body, representing constituents from 26 wards. Among these, twelve wards are situated within the urban perimeter of Maidstone, namely Allington, Bridge, Downswood & Otham, East ward, Fant, Heath, High Street, North ward, Park Wood, Shepway North, Shepway South, and South ward. The remaining 14 wards predominantly cover rural districts.

Maidstone Borough is recognized as a highly desirable locale for residency and employment, boasting commendable metrics such as robust employment rates, relatively low instances of adults claiming incapacity benefits, and a higher proportion of residents holding degrees compared to the regional average of the Southeast. The Borough also experiences a notable influx of commuters compared to outbound commuters. Diverse in its economic landscape, the Borough hosts a multitude of small and medium-sized enterprises, with notable concentrations in professional services such as law and accountancy, as well as the construction sector. Notably, Maidstone emerged as the premier choice for business establishment in a 2010 study assessing favourable business locations within Kent.
